Fight Club (1999)
- Went in blind and haven't been spoiled this far- only seeing clips where I went "oh i've seen that somewhere"
- glad I wasn't because yeah I can see the appeal
- had me on the literal edge of my desk chair
- is this where that trope in movies comes from? GENUIENLY
- besides that the theme of late-stage capitalism and it's effects can still be felt today
- I loved the "HUH ANALYZE" parts of the movie that made things connect and I felt that 30 minutes in
- Brad Pitt maaaaaan he is who he is i loved his performance
- plenty of quotes from him in this movie
- whoever did the costuming for this, bravo
- the fashion geek in me was pointing out what Helena and Brad's characters had on
- BUT one point of the movie was to not consume on such a level that the items become you
- which yes, VERY true it's something to remember I'm learning that
- I took in a lot what was said
- Great movie tell your friends
The Lighthouse (2019)
- A tale of madness between two sea dogs
- Alright enough sea talk this movie was pretty funny
- Robert really loves an unhinged performance and i'm all for it
- Defoe de GOAT and Robert make such a good couple
- Had this movie sitting for maybe 2 years on my shelf because i got it on sale
- Don't waste time like watch it- good movie
Mickey 17 (2025)
- a Boon Joon-ho directed BANGER
- a sci-fi dark comedy about a guy who didn't read what he was signing up for
- him and his friend made a bad deal with a loan shark- leading him to flee Earth
- ends up boarding a space colony in the making led by "space trump" Kenneth Marshall as an "expendable"
- Mark Ruffalo doing a crazy trump impression the whole movie- comically evil alongside his evil wife
- Joon-ho social commentary included as usual but this movie does it comically sadistic
- Mickey is the lab experiment that gets re-printed everytime he dies- all being recorded and saved to a memory data brick
- dies in many ways to get vaccines and data made for the new inhabitants of Niflheim
- a new species called "creepers" are discovered
- "they're creepy so lets call them creepers!!!"
- they end up saving Mickey 17 and throwing him back out onto land instead of eating him
- they're so cute and harmless, but of course they're found as a threat by Kenneth
- as a result of him being gone, they print out Mickey 18
- two mickey's now exist and it's outlawed to have multiples
- 18 ends up being an asshole version of 17 and tries to kill 17 and many others
- the love interest Nasha wants them both- for love and lustful purposes
- both Mickey's were a great dynamic- a good vs evil mickey that was enjoyable to see bicker and have different perspectives on what's going on with the mission
- the pace of the movie was great never a dull moment
- me and mel loved the creepers I want a plushie (;o;)
- so far my favorite movie i've watched this year go watch
"The Day The Earth Blew Up" A Looney Tunes Movie (2025)
- WB tried shelving this for the write off but Ketchup Entertainment saved us all
- First full length Looney Tunes in theaters done fully handrawn
- My love for Space Jam and Who Framed Roger Rabbit's animation made me smile and appreciate this movie
- Daffy Duck and Porky Pig save the world from an alien invasion with the help of a new gum scientist friend Petunia Pig
- genuinely funny movie all the jokes hit for me that were funny for kids and adults
- Farmer Jim's apperance and animation in the beginning were hilarious
- Daffy and Porky growing up together was cute they have such great character chemistry
- the gum being contaminated by a mind-controlled scientist makes everyone zombies under control by the alien
- the plot twist for the alien's motive was totally a suprise I couldn't stop giggling
- I went to go get boba right after
- please WB hear my cries- DON'T GIVE UP ON ANIMATION THIS MOVIE WAS GREAT AND CHARMING AND PRETTY
- I'd love a sequel or other movies with different characters PLEASE
Tekkonkinkreet (2006)
- I saw Brain Dead Studio's April movie lineup and this on the list
- I've seen the characters before somewhere, so I decided to give it a watch
- the artstyle and animation-so vibrant and pretty depicting "an armpit of a city"
- two orphan kids named "Black" and "White" protecting Treasure Town from unwanted Yakuza trying to take over
- Black and White are like brothers keeping the town theirs
- Black is more occupied by protecting the town by force while White is the innocent kid in his own world
- White's character is smart and can read situation's far away with his feelings- dealing with good and bad by asking god for forgiveness when they hurt someone
- Studio 4°C did an amazing job with the animation- so much detail in the background art!
- Black and White's character designs are some of my favorites- White's many hats and Black's goggles being my stand-outs
- a great movie about two kids kicking ass and surviving in the dangerous city
- "this planet is peaceful- over and out"
